I had no special prior knowledge about the Civil War and I was born in 1980, that is, fifteen years after Franco’s death. I understood the comission was intended with the aim of having the “look” of the younger generation in democratic Spain over the shocking, fascinating images that Centelles had preserved. My only rationale, then, was to produce a visual sequence of the war through the work of Centelles, but according to what appeared significant or moving to my young eyes. It was an exercise in “filming” photography and producing a linear sequence of what the photographer caught with his Leica. No intereference of words or commentary. It is a work for quiet reflection. Food for thought while the stream of images and music try, ceaslessly, to reach the audience.

“la guerre civile d’Agustí Centelles” (2006) was comissioned in order to show as many photographs as possible from the then practically unknown archive as a way to complement…

[3,10

post-1566","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-audiovisuals","category-noticies
["GET
